You probably haven't thought about your car's serpentine belt. However, if you've lifted the hood to check your oil or antifreeze levels, you have no doubt noticed it. Over time, the serpentine belt can become cracked and worn. That can cause it to slip and make an annoying squeaking noise when your engine is running. When your serpentine belt slips, the electrical supply to your car's system may be reduced and interrupted.
